Kathy Wayner, President, CEO and Managing Partner:
Ms. Wayner is the majority owner of Bowling Portfolio Management and is the President
and CEO. She has been associated with Bowling Portfolio Management since 1986. Kathy
attended the University of Cincinnati. She began her investment career at The Union
Central Life Insurance Company, where she managed a variety of different portfolios,
including equities, fixed income and convertible securities from 1973-1984. At the
time she left Union Central, she held the position of Director of Investment Research.
Prior to joining Bowling in 1986, Kathy founded an investment advisory firm in the
Cincinnati area. In 1989, Kathy co-founded Cincinnati Asset Management, a specialized
fixed income securities firm. In 1994, Kathy rejoined Bowling Portfolio Management
to lead its operations. She became President in 2002.
Darren Kavesh, CFA, CIO and Managing Partner
Mr. Kavesh joined Bowling in 1994. Darren is the Chief Investment Officer for Bowling,
and is responsible for the oversight of all portfolio management activities including
research and trading. He began managing Bowling client assets in 1994 and became
the firm’s CIO in 2001. He is the architect of Bowling’s Quantitative Model. Mr.
Kavesh began his education at UCLA and graduated from the University of Phoenix,
earning a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.B.A. in Business Administration.
He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Darren is a 49% owner of Bowling
Portfolio Management LLC.
Research and Trading Professionals
Ed Rountree, CFA, CFP®, Vice President
Ed is the Vice President of Client Relations and Business Development for Bowling.
Ed’s background includes 10 years of industry experience as a financial advisor
with Legg Mason and Citigroup. He earned a B.S. in Paper Science and Engineering
from Miami University in 1991, and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Cincinnati
in 1998. He also holds the designation of Certified Financial Planner®. In 2010
he was awarded the CFA designation and was made a member of Bowling’s Investment
Committee.
Ted Lenihan, Head Trader
Ted joined the Trading and Research Department of Bowling in 2006 and in 2007 was
named Associate Trader. Ted assists in Bowling’s research efforts and is the firm’s
primary trader. Prior to joining Bowling, Ted was a Registered Representative of
Bartlett & Company. He has over nine years of experience in the financial services
industry with a primary focus on trade execution and settlement. In 2009, he was
promoted to the position of Head Trader.
Operations and Client Servicing
Linda A. Wallace, Assistant Vice President
Linda joined Bowling in 1989 after spending eight years with an institutional investment
firm as a trader and Portfolio Management assistant. As a long standing member of
the Bowling team, she has worked closely with the President of the firm for over
20 years in ensuring that client needs are being met. Linda’s primary responsibility
is to serve as the liaison between clients and the investment team. In addition,
her depth of knowledge and experience with Bowling permits her to serve as a key
resource in a variety of projects firm wide including operations, client reporting
and compliance. Linda earned her Associate’s Degree from the Miami University.
Karen R. Wienkamp, Senior Account Executive
Karen joined Bowling in 1993. Prior to joining Bowling, Karen was the Director of
Operations for an institutional fixed income firm. She has over 24 years of investment
experience, 17 of which has been with Bowling. She has held the position of Trader
and Account Executive over her tenure with the firm. Karen has a comprehensive knowledge
of the firm’s investment process, its clients and its operations and has worked
closely with both the Investment Team and the President of the firm. Karen earned
her B.A. from the University of Cincinnati.
Tricia Powell, Trading and Operations Executive
Tricia joined Bowling in 2004. During her tenure at the firm, Tricia has overseen research and trading operations and has had primary responsibility for data aggregation and the daily assembly of Bowling’s core model. She is currently involved in the operations and trading of the organization and provides support to the Investment and Trading Team. She graduated from the University of Kentucky earning a B.B.A in Finance. Prior to joining Bowling, Ms. Powell was an Assistant Trader for New York Life Investment Management in Lexington, Kentucky.
